Overview

From Grant, headed towards Guanella Pass Road you will find the Geneva Creek area. Lush green with lots of streams and ponds. This area can be cold at night, so be prepared. There are dozens of good sites but keep in mind that the further you go down this road the worse the road gets. I would not suggest taking camper trailers very far into this area.

Best Spots

I would suggest picking a location on the West side of the road to take advantage of the morning sun. There are larger spots towards the Geneva Creek NF campsite and most sites on the East side of the road wil be smaller and more difficult to access.

Notes / Considerations

This is one of my favorites areas but beware, the road is a non-maintained, dirt road with hills, ruts and dips. There are several stream crossings and the further down the road you get the worse the road becomes. I would recommend at taking a high clearance vehicle.

As part of the recent improvements to Guanella Pass Road, many of the capsites early on have been blocked. If you are plannning on taking a large group, scout ahead and get there early.
