About Go Camp Colorado
As a Colorado native I have a passion for camping but staying in National Forest Campgrounds is far from the experience that I am after. NF Campgrounds can easily run $20 per night, be in sites where the nearest neighbor is within feet and there seems to always be that one group of rowdy partiers that stay up into the early morning hours.
After several summers of putting up with the NF Campgrounds I vowed to avoid the pay sites and take advantage of FREE National Forest Dispersed Camping. Dispersed campsites are abundant throughout the state but require some additonal leg work and research that make finding these spots challenging.
That is why I created this site as a Reference Guide and Tool to share my experiences with others in hopes that everyone can experiecne and enjoy the spendor of our state. So spend some time looking through what is laid out here, make your plans and GO CAMP COLORADO!
Information and Reference
Over the years of camping I have had numerous conversations about camping with family, friends and coworkers and some common topics seems to come up: Where should I go? Can I have a fire? Where can I shoot my guns and under what rules?
I have done the research and laid it all out for you in a single location, in simple terms. So check it out.
