Idaho Springs - Mt Evans
Overview

On the way to Mt. Evans and close to Idaho Springs. For its proximity to Denver, this place is a gem. Because the access road is a rough and steep dirt road (almost necessary of 4x4) you will only find tent campers and it probably won't be overly crowded. On top of the hill, this area looks over Idaho Springs and cell service is available.

Best Spots

There are not a lot of sites with large level areas but there are some good ones. It will take a few more trips to pick a favorite.

Notes / Considerations

The access road can be difficult. I recommend a high clearance vehicle, preferably 4x4.

Weather can be factor because you are on top of the mountain.
